When house music was born, Philip knew this was the music he loved! Tam Tam, Forest, Baccardi’s, Outline, Illusion, Revolution (Nijmegen NL), Renania (DE), Carat, Shaft & La Rocca where he still plays the decks every week! And bands like Milk Inc, Kate Ryan, Jessy and Astroline to name but a few.
His career as a producer started at the age of 18 and his first release “Too Deep” sold over 20.000 copies in the Be Ne Lux area. Philip was also one of the leading men behind the Gemini II project, and was the man who got Zippora here first international hit. From South Africa to Colombia, Spain, Italy, Germany, etc.
In 2005 Neon started his professional carreer as he started working at Musicman, a record store in Ghent and became resident at The Temple on saturdays playing house, groove and progressive.
Even TV wasn’t safe anymore: every week he presented the “Release of the Week” on jim tv’s “Going Out” show.
Philip Michael Andersson aka Dj Philip started his deejay career in 1989 as an all-round deejay, playing all kinds of music from new wave to reggae at local parties and holding two residencies at 2 local clubs. E, Regi, Peter Luts, Starfighter, Eduardo Delvino, etc.
Then it grew bigger and bigger from clubs like Risco, Nut’s, Tomorrow, Karrewiel, etc. And making remixes for fellow producers Eric M (Depeche Mode’s Personal Jesus), Pole Folder, Oliver Moldan, Tiësto, Vincent the Moor, Quicksilver, etc.
Together with his friend and colleague Maxim Lany he took over the main room of Culture Club where he is still playing today on Thursday & Saturday nights.
In 2009 Neon also was the closing act on the Laundry Day main stage playing after TiÃ«sto.
Producing his own tracks was only a natural step in spreading quality house vibes all around the world.Belgium-based but beaming the love of house all over the world with a blend of funky rhythms, groovy sax and smooth vocals: Dj Licious knows good vibes come from nothing but house music.After founding the celebrated clubbing concept SHOMI in Antwerp, his deejay career directed him to the Belgian “Defected in the House” parties, proudly pushing house music on a national level.His radio appearance influenced his dj-career: he got the opportunity to start playing at his favourite club: the former Boccaccio that was called The Temple at the time. One year later, he left C-dance for the biggest dance radio in flanders: Top Radio.Starting with a weekly dj-set, Neon soon got his own daily spot on national radio hosting his own radio show called “The Nightclub”. This show is still on air everyday from 8am giving you an “update” on the hottest new music.
